Empowering Young Minds with Creativity, Engineering, and Programming
Program Description
LEGO Robotics and Coding is a hands-on program tailored for children aged 7-9 years. This exciting program introduces kids to the world of simple machines and coding through fun and engaging LEGO® projects. Over the course of the program, children will explore fundamental engineering concepts, develop problem-solving skills, and take their first steps into the world of programming using the LEGO WeDo animated software.
The program progresses from building basic mechanical models to creating more complex structures with specialized LEGO® components. Kids will also learn to integrate sensors and motors, bringing their creations to life with movement and programmed actions.
What You’ll Learn
Term 1:
- Build and explore simple machines like gears, pulleys, wheels, axles, and levers.
- Understand the classification and uses of mechanical components.
- Construct working models and discover how mechanical systems function.
- Introduction to animated programming software, focusing on simple coding and mechanical animation.
Term 2:
- Build advanced models using LEGO® specialized pieces like gears, beams, motors, axles, and microcomputers.
- Learn to use sensors to add functionality and interactivity to creations.
- Master the fundamentals of programming with LEGO, enabling robots to move, react, and perform exciting tasks.
